The present invention relates to a method of producing a gel. The method comprises mixing a hydrocarbon oil and at least one block copolymer. The invention is characterized in that at least one of the components is heated with the aid of electromagnetic radiation. Preferably the oil, to which the at least one block copolymer is added, is heated by means of microwaves. Dispersing is carried out with the aid of a disperser operating with much turbulence and little shearing.
