The invention relates to a method for machining workpieces using a machining process, in particular an electrochemical machining process. According to said method, a voltage is applied between an electrode and a workpiece, in such a way that a current runs between the electrode and the workpiece via a working medium, in particular an electrolyte solution, in order to remove or deposit material. The voltage for machining the workpiece(s) is increased and the current is monitored. The voltage is increased by means of a ramp to reach a predetermined value (U1). This allows substantially narrow limits to be defined for the current flow during the machining process, additionally resulting in narrower limits for the dimensional accuracy and an increased quality of the workpieces. The stress on the electrode is also lower. |
