The process involves the catalytic cracking of gaseous or liquid hydrocarbons with boiling points less than 220 degrees C in the presence of steam using nickel contg. catalysts. The sulphurated starting hydrocarbon is divided into two parts. After the introduction of steam, the first part is cracked in the recognised way to form a H2-contg gas which is converted into a H2-rich end-gas with a H2-content of at least 95 vol% by CO conversion, CO2 washings and methylation. The second part is simultaneously cracked to form a relatively CO-rich gas by the addn of steam and CO2, from which, after passing through a CO2-wash, the required oxosynthesis gas is formed; in such a way that both parts of the processes are applied through the CO2 wash. |
