Disclosed is an arrangement (10) comprising a first component (12), a second component (14), and an element (16) connecting the first component (14) to the second component (14) at a distance from each other. At least one end (17) of the first component (12), which is to be connected to the second component (14), is configured as a profile, particularly in the shape of a tube. The connecting element (16) is provided with an axially movable spacer (22) bridging the distance between the end (17) of the first component (12), which is to be connected, and the second component (14), at least one clamping piece (26) which can be rested in a clamping manner against one wall (32) of the first component (12), and an actuating mechanism (34) which is connected to the spacer (22) and the clamping piece (26) so as to interact therewith such that the spacer (22) is moved in an axial direction until it rests against the second component (14) while the clamping piece (26) engages in a clamping manner with the wall (32) of the first component (12) when the actuating mechanism (34) is actuated. The end (17) of the first component (12), which is to be connected to the second component (14), is provided with at least one step (52) which faces the longitudinal centerline (18) of the first component (12) and in front of which the at least one clamping piece (26) engages with the wall (32) of the first component.
