<p>A respiratory monitor has a pyroelectric sensor (1) positioned so as to be impinged upon by a subjects breathing and thus operable to produce a signal representative of the subjects breathing. The signal is amplified by a differential amplifier (3), filtered and converted in order to obtain a signal indicative of the subjects breathing rate. The monitor additionally incorporates a display unit (12) for displaying information concerning the subjects breathing rate.</p> |
