<p>The invention relates to the neutralisation of highly-toxic biochemical waste by means of a self-controlled plasma, using transportable means, and the method for same. The invention comprises a device in the form of a single transportable unit, a main treatment chamber with the necessary dimensions in order to receive a drum or barrel containing the waste to be eliminated and which can create and manipulate the direction of the RF plasma flows at a temperature greater than 10,000 °K, such that said plasma completely surrounds the container in order to break down the waste fully. The chamber can collect and select the different materials, according to the nature thereof, once they have been broken down, transporting same by means of the plasma flow generated by argon gas or other gases injected into the chamber containing the gas conditioner/separator, at the far end thereof. The aforementioned main treatment chamber, which comprises embedded antennas that emit a radiofrequency which produces and maintains the plasma nucleus, is connected to: a) a robotic unit for loading the drums/barrels of waste into the main chamber; b) an RF generating unit; c) a unit for refrigerating the main chamber and the peripherals; d) a unit for controlling and monitoring the entire process; e) a power generator with peripherals for regulating the functions thereof; and f) a database for product compatibility/inventory. The invention also relates to the waste elimination method.</p> |
