PURPOSE:To reduce the stain of a following recording medium by setting the amount of air flowing in a liquid developer supply groove higher than that in performing development after completing the development, and quickly removing a residual liquid developer. CONSTITUTION:Most of the developer in the liquid developer supply grooves 8, 9 can be quickly collected in a liquid developer tank 10 by switching an electromagnetic valve 13 as driving a pump motor 14 at a time when the rear terminal of an electrostatic latent image on recording paper passes a developing head plane and the developing is completed, and cutting off a supply pipe 11. There after, all the negative pressure generated by the pump motor 14 are used for the suction of the air in the liquid developer supply grooves 8, 9 from a gap between a developing head plane and a recording paper surface, thereby, the liquid developer remaining on the liquid developer supply grooves 8, 9 and the recording paper can be sucked. In such a way, it is possible to reduce the occurrence of the stain of the recording medium when it is moved to a develop ing position for reuse in development. |
