PURPOSE:To improve the cut resistance of a belt by giving cords, in the main layer of the belt made up of inextensional steel cords, the same size in the layer but different sizes between the layers and specifying the ratio of the cord sizes and the ratio of the total rupture strength in the direction of the cord of the large-size cord layer to that of the remaining cord layer in width. CONSTITUTION:The main layer 2b of a belt 2 is constituted by laminating a small-size cord A and a large-size cord B so that they can have the same size in the layer but different sizes between the layers. At this time, the ratio of the sizes of both cords A, B is set to be within 1.2-3.0, and the total rupture strength in the direction of the cord of the layer of the large-size cord B in width is set to be 1.1-2.0 times that of the layer of the small-size cord A. In this way, the belt is improved in cut resistance. |
