An amusement ride, such as a roller coaster (10) or vertical tower track rid e (106), includes an attachment assembly (18,110) movably connected to a track system (14,108). A vehicle assembly (16,112) is connected to the attachment assembly (18,11C) and includes a seat assembly having at least one rider sea t (56,120). The vehicle assembly (16,112) is coupled to the attachment assembl y (18,110) and configured such that the seat assembly is capable of fully rotating about first and second, and preferably event third axes independent of the track system.
