<p>A power conversion system includes a first converter C1 having a DC side (26) and an AC side (32) and a second converter C2 having a DC side (40) and an AC side (44). The DC sides (26) and (40) of converters C1 and C2 are connected in series with a battery (50) connected in parallel across the DC side (26) of converter C1. The AC sides (32) and (44) of converters C1 and C2 are connected in parallel across an AC voltage grid. A DC generating power source S is coupled across the DC sides of both converters C1 and C2. Converter C1 is bi-directional with converter C2 being either an inverter providing DC to AC conversion or alternately a bi-directional inverter.</p> |
