The split ring (4) for holding e.g. a plastics cup carries two diametrically opposed loop handles (10). The ends of the ring (5,6) have a hook (7,8) fastened to one end engaging in one of several apertures in the other end. The system allows the size of the ring to be adjusted to engage the rim (3) of different size cups (1,2).
