PURPOSE: A PIP display device on a TV screen and a method thereof are provided to move a PIP screen and a PIP menu simultaneously for realizing various PIP window screens according to the request of a user, and easily obtain desired information by displaying corresponding source control information and PIP control information for the PIP selection by the connection with various external equipment. CONSTITUTION: A PIP display device on a TV screen includes the first and second image processing parts(10,20) for processing main and auxiliary image sources, an interface(30) for transmitting request signals of a user and the connection to an external equipment, and a switching part(50) for selecting outputs of either the first or second image processing part according to a user's instruction input via the interface. A digital image processing part(60) processes the output signal from the switching part to display on a display part(70). A microcomputer(40) controls operations of the first and second processing parts according to the user's instruction and controls a screen construction according to PIP control instructions input by the user.
