<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cover opening/closing detecting unit for washing machine which can perform synchronization of output timing of cover closing signals from a Hall IC, and can detect the opening and closing of the cover accurately, even in the case that the magnet has some unevenness in magnetizing, a size and/or a magnetic force change due to temperature, and can also prevent a generation of impulsive sounds caused by cover lock operation. <P>SOLUTION: In the washing machine in which an outer tank is rockably suspended in an outer box, a spin tub for washing and dewatering with a rotary blade in the bottom is rotatably arranged in the outer tank, the upper part of the outer box is covered with a top cover 4 having a clothing input port to the spin tub for washing and dewatering, and the input port of the clothing is closed in a manner that it is freely opened and closed by means of a cover 5 mounted on the top cover 4, the Hall IC 23, a sensor, is provided on a vertical side of the top cover 4, the magnet 22 for causing the Hall IC 23 to output is provided on the vertical side of the cover 5 arranged in a manner that S pole 22a and N pole 22b are in a vertical direction, and the Hall IC 23 and the magnet 22 are arranged in the horizontal position. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
