Connecting rod-operated hook bolt lock (1) comprises a hook bolt element pivoted by a connecting rod (3) about a pivot axis (8) fixed on a housing. In an open position the hook bolt element pivots behind a lock plate (2) into the lock housing (4), and in a locking position has a bar (12) dividing a lock engaging opening of a counter locking part (15) into two partial openings (13, 14). The hook bolt element is formed by two individual hook bolts (9, 10) pivoting in opposite directions about a common axis and entering into one of the two partial openings. Preferred Features: The connecting rod-connecting slide (18, 19) is driven in counter rotation by a gear wheel (42).
