<p>PURPOSE: To form an air reservoir at both sides of a ground contact and to provide a high density connector with, for example, 2mm pitch which has an excellent electric characteristics equal to a low density connector without reducing impedance. CONSTITUTION: A high density connector 10 has a pin header 12 and a receptacle 70, which arrange plural rows of contacts 52, 102 for signaling respectively. Each contact 52, 102 for signaling is fixed in the corresponding passage and more than one columns of contacts 58, 110 for ground are arranged between the contacts for signaling. As for each contact 58, 110 for ground, the main body is fixed to the corresponding slot 42, 94. Each slot 42, 94 is wider than the board thickness of the contacts 58, 110 for ground, and has a means for positioning a main body at the center of the slot, forming air reservoirs 46, 98 at both sides of the ground contact.</p> |
