<p>A method for producing a material containing a modified sulfur, which comprises a step (A) of melting and mixing 100 parts by weight of sulfur and 0.1 to 25 parts by weight of tetrahydroindene at a temperature in the range of 120 to 160˚C to the extent that the mixture has a viscosity at 140˚C of 0.05 to 3.0 Page . s, a step (B) of cooling the resulting molten product to 120˚C or less, to prepare a binder containing a modified sulfur, a step (C) of blending the binder containing a modified sulfur and an aggregate in a weight ratio of 1 - 5 : 9 - 5 at a temperature of 120 to 160˚C, and a step (D) of cooling and solidifying the resulting blend. The method allows the production, with simple control operations, of a material containing a modified sulfur which has satisfactory mechanical strength, water-intercepting property, resistance to ignition, and resistance to sulfur oxidizing bacteria ,can utilize a domestic waste and an industrial waste, and satisfies requirements as a general material for civil engineering and construction.</p> |
