PURPOSE: A method for configuring control codes of home appliances in a home network system is provided to control the home appliances with consistent control codes when building a home network, thereby being compatible with other brand products if only a driving program is supplied. CONSTITUTION: A user inputs a desirous control specification through a GUI(Graphic User Interface)(S101). A home network system drives a program in accordance with a corresponding product(S102). The home network system creates a file according to the inputted control specification(S103). The home network system transmits the created file to the corresponding product(S104). The home network system analyzes file contents on the product, and decides whether the file is accorded with a self file structure(S105). If so, the home network system controls the corresponding product according to analyzed results(S106).
