A driveshaft assembly includes a driveshaft tube (12) including an end (14) having a pair of axially extending arms (16) formed integrally therewith and a journal cross carrier (20) having axially extending arms (22) engaging the arms extending from the end of the driveshaft tube. The journal cross carrier has a cup-shaped (28) portion integral therewith. The cup-shaped portion extends within the driveshaft tube. The first and second arms of said journal cross carrier arms respectively engage the first and second arms of the driveshaft tube. <IMAGE>
