PURPOSE: A DNC(Direct Numerical Control) and monitoring apparatus of a machine tool and a method for the same are provided to integrate a DNC program and a monitoring program by improving a hardware and a software. CONSTITUTION: A DNC and monitoring apparatus of a machine tool includes a master PLC(20), the first RS232/422 converter(50), a multiplexer(60), the second RS232/422 converter(70), and an integrated computer(80). The master PLC(20) is connected to PLC I/O ports of plural machine tools. The first RS232/422 converter(50) is connected to the master PLC(20) in order to extend the communication distance. The multiplexer(60) is connected to the plural machine tools in order to select a channel of the particular machine tool. The second RS232/422 converter(70) is connected to the multiplexer(60) in order to extend the communication distance. The integrated computer(80) is connected to the first and the second RS232/422 converter(50,70) in order to integrate, operate, and control a DNC program and a monitoring program.
