PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent chips from accumulating at the back side of a machine tool, and to improve scenery. SOLUTION: In the machine tool of which the front side and both sides of the right and left in the upper part of a base 2 are surrounded with a dispersion preventing cover 11; a Y-axis table 6 moving in the front and rear against a working table 3 is provided on the base 2, and a column 7 moving in the right and left against the working table 3 is provided on the Y-axis table 6; a back face cover 16 extended in an X-axis direction at the back face side of the column 7 on the Y-axis table 6, is set up, and a space for disposing wiring 30, tubing 31 is provided between a rear unit portion 10 in its rear side.
