WATER PURIFYING SYSTEM A process for producing a non-toxic solution of at least one water soluble solid substantially free of micro-organism which process comprises retaining the solid in a container provided with a selectively permeable membrane in contact with the solid and contacting the opposed side of the membrane with water for a predetermined minimum period of time so as to allow the water to enter the container by osmosis but to prevent the passage into the container of micro-organism from the water. The solution may be an oral rehydration therapy, drinking water, a solution of drug, dried blood product, or bloodor plasma-substitute for administration to a patient or a nutritional suspension of dried nutritional substance, milk solids or partly dehydrated food. Containers for use in the process are also described. |
