PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a muscular strength measuring method which can detect the change of muscular strength of an O-ring forming finger with high precision. SOLUTION: An O-ring releasing means is formed by a pair of members (3, 4) of which, at least one side is made of an elastic body, and a distortion detection means (15) is mounted to a member (4) made of the elastic body. A distortion detecting means (15) detects the distortion generated when applying an external force for releasing the O-ring to the member (4) as a distortion amount, and measures a change in muscular strength of a thumb and one of the other fingers depending on the output from the distortion detecting means (15).
