PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a floating oil recovery device which can surely suck and recover oil always floating on the water surface, and effectively prevent the idle running of a suction pump. SOLUTION: A closed-end guide cylinder body 2 having a required height is arranged in a water storage tank 1. A suction pipe 3 is connected with the lower end of the guide cylindrical body 2 so as to freely communicate with it. A lifting cylindrical body 4 in which a float body 5 is installed is fitted into the guide cylindrical body 2 so as to freely move up and down. In order to support the upper end of the lifting cylindrical body 4 so as to be abutted on the water surface level, a stopper 8 is installed above the lifting cylindrical body 4 so that its height can be freely adjusted.
