PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pressing device having an upper or a lower die with a transfer part on whose surface an uneven pattern and a joint are formed, which press-forms a nearly flat material to be worked between the upper and the lower dies to make an exterior material having the uneven pattern and the joint on its surface, where the exterior material is produced with improved production efficiency and is inexpensive as well even in the case of producing exterior materials having different widths and the same pattern. SOLUTION: The upper die or the lower die is formed by juxtaposing main die materials 1, 2 in the lateral direction approximately orthogonal to the direction of the joint and by arranging auxiliary die materials 3 or 4, whose widths are narrower than those of the main die materials, between the main die materials. Furthermore, the main die materials 1, 2 are made movable in the lateral direction so that a plurality of the auxiliary die materials different in width can be exchanged. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
