PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a new vaginal drug delivery system of an inherently neutral pH, suitable for controlling the delivery of a substance therapeutically effective for the vaginal cavity. SOLUTION: This vaginal drug delivery system contains a suspension of inherently neutral pH containing spherical particles composed of two phases the one of which is an inner water-soluble phase and another is an outer water- insoluble phase or a film, wherein the inner water-soluble phase contains a therapeutically effective medicament. A dosage form in which the inner water-soluble phase contains an acidic buffer phase is exemplified as one of new forms of the vaginal drug delivery system. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
