PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a head rest housing device capable of preventing a user from forgetting to mount the head rest by specifying the housing position of the head rest when housing the head rest pulled out of a seat back of a seat device, capable of improving a housing posture by hiding the head rest from outside of a car, capable of preventing the generation of sound of inferior quality caused by the interference of the stay of the head rest with a vehicle body during run, and capable of effectively utilizing a space in a cabin by suppressing the projection amount of the head rest at housing. SOLUTION: By turning the head rest 3 upside down, the front face 32f of a cushion part 32 is abutted on the inclined surface 1k of a seat cushion 1 in an erected state, a stay 31 is abutted on an elastic member 66 provided at the back side 1u of the seat cushion 1. In this state, the cushion part 32 is designed to be compressed and stored by the engagement of an engaging belt 60 provided in the cushion part 32 and a hook 64 provided in the seat cushion 1.
