The method involves sinking hollow tube (50) into a ground with a vertical orientation during driving of a removable drilling head (55). An excavating unit (71) is sunk at the same time as the tube to drill out earth beneath a bottom part of the tube. The head is removed from the ground after the tube is sunk. The position of a drive shaft together with the excavation unit is adjusted when the tube starts to deviate. The tube is in a drilling position in which the head extends below a bottom part of the tube by an excavating unit, when the tube is sinking. The excavating unit rotates about a drive shaft and has radial dimensions greater than or equal to external dimensions of the foundation unit. An Independent claim is also included for a system of positioning foundation unit.
