<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a Pb-Zr-Ti-O based piezoelectric substance which contains Sr, Nb and Mn, and of which a rising temperature can be suppressed compared with the case of the conventional piezoelectric transformer when driven at the high power satisfying the vibration rate of ≥0.3 m/sec, and to provide a production method thereof. <P>SOLUTION: A compound containing the metallic elements of Pb, Zr, Ti, Sr and Nb is calcined at 800 to 1,000°C in the presence of oxygen so as to become a composition of PbASrB[(Zr<SB>0.53</SB>Ti<SB>0.47</SB>)X(Mn<SB>1/3</SB>Nb<SB>2/3</SB>)Y]O<SB>3</SB>(wherein, 0.852<;A<;0.960, 0.017<;B<;0.125, X=0.94, Y=0.06). Next, a compound containing Mn is added to the calcined powder, and compacting is performed. After that, the compact is fired at 1,000 to 1,300°C in the presence of oxygen, so that the piezoelectric substance is produced. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
