PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress the erroneous judgement of a rat capture-monitoring system by discriminating whether an output signal from a sensor for detecting the capture of the rat is caused actually by the capture of the rat or by an outside disturbance. SOLUTION: This method for monitoring the capture of the rat is provided by using the rat capture-monitoring system equipped with a capturing tool 2 for capturing the rat, a vibration sensor 3 for detecting the vibration of the capturing tool 2 and a judging means 13 for analyzing an output data of the vibration sensor 3 to read the time for generation of the vibration and judging as the rat is captured in the case that the vibration appears intermittently and continuously for more than a prescribed time, and judging that the rat is captured in the case that the vibration of the capturing tool appears intermittently and continuously for longer than the prescribed time. As the prescribed time, by setting it as 3 min., the capture of the rat can be further more surely detectable. COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
