PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To slantly cut an edge of a felt cloth material to be put over a drum of a sheet roller, in particular to precisely and simply cut its flat slope, and to fixedly roll the material in an approximately complete circle when putting it over. SOLUTION: A traveling guide 11 is provided along an edge on a cutting table 1 for carrying the edge of the felt cloth material F. An engaging set mechanism 20 including a cutter 16 on its bottom face for engagedly supporting a cutting mechanism 13 traveling on the edge is engaged with a guide rail 12 placed on three surfaces of the traveling guide 11. The mechanism 20 includes a slide base 26 for adjusting a vertical position with respect to the edge and an angle adjust means 35 for similarly adjusting a gradient angle. A cutting mechanism 13 is engagedly supported on a coupling means 41 carried by the angle adjust means 35. A cooling and solidifying mechanism 50 placed in front of the cutting mechanism 13 is provided for spouting a cooling and solidifying gas to the edge soaked in cooling water for cooling and solidifying the edge.
