PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing a collagen peptide, capable of producing the collagen peptide at a low cost by shortening its production process, and a method for producing a product utilizing the collagen peptide. SOLUTION: This method for producing the collagen peptide is provided by adding water to a frozen shark skin containing proteins, adjusting the pH of the solution with a citric acid solution, adding a proteolytic enzyme, adjusting the pH of the obtained solution by using the citric acid solution to inactivate the enzyme, performing a filtration with diatomaceous earth for separating a residual and coagulated material to obtain a collagen peptide solution having a transparent and yellow colored appearance.
