<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording material which is excellent in water resistance, has a good aptitude for printing, and prevents the adhesion of foreign matter to a head in printing. <P>SOLUTION: In the thermal recording material, a thermal recording layer containing a colorless or hypochromic basic leuco dye and a developer as main components is formed on a support.
