PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fishing reel that shows stabilized performance in the reciprocating motion of a sliding member in a reciprocating motion-converting device. SOLUTION: The fishing reel is provided with a reciprocating motion- converting device 25 that converts the rotational motion from the winding-up motion-driving mechanism connected to the handle bar 8 into the reciprocating motion in order to winding up the fishing line in parallel around the spool 6. Further, on the outer periphery that constitutes the reciprocating motion- converting device 25, are integrally molded a rotary shaft 30 having an endless cum groove 30a thereon and the gear 35 to which driving force is transmitted from the line-winding up driving mechanism.
