<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for using the food waste of the residue of food processing and others as a food material or feed for livestock, fish and pets through drying the food waste in a condition of maintaining the characteristics of a raw material composing the food waste. <P>SOLUTION: The method for changing the food waste into a food material or feed comprises drying the food waste at a relatively low temperature of ≤100°C to obtain dry products through putting the food waste into a rotary drum main body 1 and supplying hot air at ≤100°C from a blast port 12. The air for drying sent from the blast port 12 strikes upon an umbrella-shaped obstructive board 15 at the input side and is sent towards the side board 6 of the drum main body 1, and part of the air strikes upon a doughnut-shaped obstructive board 17 and is sent also to the intermediate part of the drum main body. At the same time, the waste is cut into flakes with a cutting blade 26 set inside the drum main body 1 and lifted up with a lifter blade 32 so as to contact with hot air in a good manner and be efficiently dried. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
