<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an imaging apparatus in which power saving control effect can be enhanced through a simplified arrangement. <P>SOLUTION: Before a control section 11 shits to a power saving mode, the register section 25 in a communication control section 14 is set with a value indicating nonstop of operation. During power saving mode, power supply to the control section 11 is interrupted and at the time of resetting from the power saving mode, the control section 11 begins initialization processing simultaneously with turn on power but does not perform initial setting of the communication control section 14 if the value indicating nonstop of operation has been set when the register section 25 in the communication control section 14 is referred.
