PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that a time is spent by reading or writing of data to a receiving buffer memory in a printer so that the speed of the transferring of data in the printer is lowered and if the receiving buffer is not provided, it is impossible to receive a predetermined amount of data in a lump from a host computer.

SOLUTION: The print data to be input is transferred to a printer mechanism side interface 15 by way of a receiving buffer memory 11 (pass1) or directly thereto (pass2). The pass can be chosen corresponding to a data transfer condition in relation to monitoring.
