PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effective means useful for controlling signal transduction through neurotrophin receptor p75 and useful for treating or preventing diseases caused by abnormality of the signal transduction through the neurotrophin receptor p75.

SOLUTION: A control agent for the signal transduction through p75NTR contains polypeptides having a sequence No.2 (refer to the specifications) and a sequence derived therefrom as effective components; contains an antibody specifically bonding to the polypeptide or its flagments as effective components; contains a nucleic acid for coding the polypeptide as effective component; contains an antisense nucleic acid of the nucleic acid as effective component. A medicinal composition for treating or preventing the diseases caused by abnormality of the signal transduction through p75NTR contains the control agent as an effective component.
