The casing (1) for the device contains a cover device (10) for at least partly covering the window pane (7). The bottom side (4) of the casing contains at least one gap (11, 13) for the cover device to pass through. The ventilation device is mounted in a frame (6) along with the window pane and has a beam-shaped casing with two vertical sides walls (2, 3) and essentially horizontal top and bottom sides. The bottom side of the casing includes a mounting in which the window pane is secured. The top side (5) of the casing is secured to the window frame. A ventilation passage (8, 9) is formed between the vertical side walls of the casing.
