<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To further enhance heat dissipation effect of a recorder represented by a printer by cooling electronic components inexpensively utilizing existing components and supporting an existing heat dissipation means. <P>SOLUTION: A main frame 5 having a substantially U-shaped plan view constitutes a basic body of the printer. A carriage 7 reciprocal in the main scanning direction is provided on a front side of the main frame 5, and a sheet feeder 3 for feeding a print sheet is provided on a rear side of the main frame 5. A circuit board 10 constituting a control unit of the printer is provided at a position, in the vicinity of the end of a reciprocal region of the carriage 7, where the circuit board 19 can touch an air flow produced through reciprocal operation of the carriage 7.
