PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a low-priced suspension device capable of continuing steady oil drainage in a shut-down state such as engine stop. SOLUTION: A normally-closed electromagnetic oil drainage valve 74 is provided in a main oil drainage channel 52A, in such a way as to bypass a check valve 15. The oil drainage valve 74 is opened for a fixed period after a hydraulic pump 9 is stopped. The oil liquid portion accompanying the loading/ unloading of passengers or cargoes after the stoppage of the hydraulic pump 9 and causing an upward movement of the vehicle body is drained and the vehicle height is lowered by shrinking a hydraulic cylinder 2. Furthermore, it is also possible to limit the downward movement of the vehicle height to a desired level by opening the oil drainage valve 74 for a prescribed time. By this constitution, it is possible to avoid a situation that may occur in the conventional technology using a pilot-type check valve-namely a situation in which oil drainage, and eventually the lowering of the vehicle height, take much time or the vehicle height is not lowered sufficiently to the desired position.
