<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a phase-changing optical recording medium which has a large recording capacity equivalent to that of DVD-ROM, secures a modulation factor in a wide range of recording linear velocity ranging from 3.5 m/s to 35 m/s, and, even when the velocity is high, has good over-light repeating characteristics, and is high in preservation reliability. <P>SOLUTION: As layers for constituting the phase-changing optical recording medium, for example, a first heat resistant protective layer of (ZnS)<SB>80</SB>(SiO<SB>2</SB>)<SB>20</SB>, a recording layer of a phase change compound containing Ga, Sb, Ca, and Nd, a second heat resistant protective layer of (ZnS)<SB>80</SB>(SiO<SB>2</SB>)<SB>20</SB>, a reflective radiation layer of a Ag alloy, and an environmental protection layer of an acrylic resin are laminated in turn on a substrate. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
