<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve a problem that although various optional units are connected externally with a printer, each optional unit requires a dedicated connector and thereby an additional cost is required for designing and mounting the connector. <P>SOLUTION: An optional unit, i.e., a roll sheet cutter 9, is fixed to an existing interface port, i.e., an IEEE1284, or the like.
