A method and device for processing signals acquired by a radar (or sonar) system mapping in SAR, standard spotlight or extended spotlight modes [i.e. with a mode of acquisition in which all the acquired signals have a Doppler frequency which follows a quasi-linear bicontinuous function of time with the same gradient in the Doppler frequency-time plane, called the Doppler slope, and a non-linear temporal migration law]. The invention consists in bringing all the acquired signals to a quasi-constant Doppler frequency within the band [-FR/2; +FR/L], in applying a first time-shift tau substantially equal to the Doppler slope, in carrying out a global correction of the migration laws, and possibly in applying, in the case of beamforming, a second time-shift tau ' in order to end up with a Fourier transform of the signals. The advantage lies in proposing a method of processing common to any existing type of acquisition mode.

|
