PURPOSE: A method for using a flash ROM having a multi-function is provided to increase the efficiency of the flash ROM and store a configuration parameter stored in a separate device, in a specific block, by embodying the multi-function in the third generation asynchronous switch, using the flash ROM, by a block unit. CONSTITUTION: When a booter is initially operated, it is judged whether the booter changes a parameter(S101). If the booter changes the parameter, the parameter of the booter is written in a flash ROM(S103). If the booter does not change the parameter, it is judged whether the parameter of the booter is a parameter written in the flash ROM(S105). If the parameter of the booter is the parameter written in the flash ROM, the parameter written in the flash ROM is copied in a RAM region(S107). If the parameter of the booter is not the parameter written in the flash ROM, a write code of the booter is included in an RTOS(Real Time OS) and the RTOS is loaded(S109).
