PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption of network equipment. SOLUTION: New network equipment is connected with the network and power is turned on. The new network equipment has network equipment connected with the network before it is connected with the network in a list, transmits a packet for turning the power on to the network equipment included in the list, when the network equipment included in the list does not exist on the network, deletes the network equipment from the list, when the network equipment included in the list exists on the network, holds the network equipment in the list, and when the network equipment which is not included in the list is newly recognized, adds the network equipment not included in the list and network equipment included in the list, into the list.
