<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reliably and efficiently identify the kind of a card. <P>SOLUTION: A command 'CMD55' having an augment with a prescribed bit made to be '1' (valid) is issued to a card to be mounted to a card slot 12 from an SMC host 11. When a response 'R1' to the command 'CMD55' is not made from the card, it is judged that the card is a multimedia card 1 or an unknown card. When the response 'R1' to the command 'CMD55' is made from the card, it is judged that the card is an SD card 2 when a prescribed bit included in the response 'R1' is '0' (void) and that the card is a shared card 3 when the prescribed bit is '1' (valid). <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
