PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system for enabling communication equipment to download image data from a server without providing the communication equipment itself with a special operating part and a web browse function, and to provide a communication method, a program and a recording medium. SOLUTION: In this communication system for communicating image data between a communication adapter 101 and the server 109 through networks 106 and 107, image data uploaded to the server 109 from the communication adapter 101 through the networks 106 and 107 is managed. A user who has uploaded image data from a PC 111 on the network 107 browses the image data and indicates image data desired to be downloaded. In response to a download request from the communication adapter 101, image data instructed by the PC 111 to the user is downloaded to the communication adapter 101 from the server 109.
