PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatically match a radio channel. SOLUTION: A wireless LAN base station (100) scans a frequency channel available on a wireless LAN, counts the beacon signals of proximate base stations, reports the number of the proximate base stations and records the number of the proximate base stations within the network into a network table (121). Based upon the number of the proximate base stations, a base station having a little proximate base stations is defined as a point to start determining the radio channels and after the base station determines the radio channel, the base station to next determine the radio channel is determined.
