<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a supermagnetostriction linear actuator wherein vibration is small. <P>SOLUTION: This supermagnetostriction linear actuator is provided with an excitation coil 1 for generating a magnetic field whose polarity alternates, a supermagnetostriction element 2 whose length is changed elastically by strength of the magnetic field whose polarity alternates by the coil 1, a pair of movable parts 3 which are arranged on both sides of the supermagnetostriction element 2 in a direction wherein the length of the supermagnetostriction element 2 is changed elastically, and a pair of preload flat springs 4 for applying preload to a pair of the movable parts 3 in a supermagnetostriction element 2 side. An arrangement structure is used wherein both ends of the supermagnetostriction element 2 are in contact with both of the movable parts 3 near a fulcrum between one end which becomes a point of action 32 of each of the movable parts 3 and the other end 31. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
