<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of determining the dead time of an individual motor drive unit, and further setting an optimum short-circuit prevention time. <P>SOLUTION: Assuming that current consumption measured in a short-circuit prevention time which has been set in a motor drive unit (a first short-circuit prevention time) is defined as first current consumption, while a consumed current when the short-circuit prevention time is cut by Δ<SB>t</SB>(a second short- circuit prevention time) is defined as second current consumption. A difference between the second current consumption and a first measured current is calculated, which is defined as Δi(2). Continuing this processing in sequence, a difference between n-th current consumption and the first current consumption Δi(n) is calculated, and it is compared with a permissible value ΔI, thereby evaluating that it is greater than or equal to the permissible value ΔImax in current consumption variations. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO |
